Community Engagement & Mental Health Conversations

published on Feb 22, 2026

As part of the ongoing development of the Open Hands App, a digital platform designed to strengthen access to mental health support, we continue to prioritize meaningful community engagement and open mental health conversations. Our goal is to ensure that the app reflects the real experiences, needs, and voices of the communities it is intended to serve.

On 22 February 2026, we hosted an interactive community engagement session in Mochudi, bringing together community members to discuss mental health awareness, challenges faced in accessing support, and the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for dialogue.

The session created an opportunity for participants to openly share experiences, reflect on the importance of emotional wellbeing, and explore how technology such as the Open Hands App can help bridge gaps in access to support services. Conversations focused on reducing stigma around mental health, strengthening peer support systems, and ensuring that individuals know where and how to seek help when they need it.

Through these engagements, we are gathering valuable insights that will help shape the functionality and content of the Open Hands App. Community feedback is essential in ensuring that the platform is not only accessible, but also relevant, supportive, and responsive to real-life mental health needs.

By fostering honest conversations and safe spaces, we are taking meaningful steps toward a future where healing begins with connection, understanding, and community support where no one feels alone.
